The Year in Review 2024 highlights the achievements of LAC LEDS, such as strategic alliances, awards and projects that reinforce our commitment to a sustainable and resilient development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This year, we have strengthened collaboration between key sectors, supporting the implementation of NDCs and low emissions development strategies through communities of practice, events, technical assistance and more. Thanks to these actions, we have strengthened the capabilities of more than 1,300 professionals and 90 institutions to address the region's climate challenges.

From September 30 to October 2, the Regional workshop LEDS LAC 2024 brought together more than 140 participants from 28 countries in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil and 1,368 live participations, 1,907 total views, 8,500 website visits and a reach of more than 187,000 people on social media.
The following were shared 38 cases from 15 countries on updating NDCsThe project's objectives are to improve the management, reporting and transparency, inter-institutional coordination, multilevel and multi-stakeholder articulation, and the financing and mobilization of investments.
The LEDS LAC Climate Action Accelerator provided 25 technical assistance assignments in 11 countriesstrengthening capacities of governments, NGOs and the private sector. 5 of these were pilot projects or pioneering actions, while 14 promoted regulatory frameworks and key instruments for NDCs and LTS, including 9 roadmaps in transportation, bioenergy and efficiency. In addition, 3 generated public-private Action and Investment Partnerships in the Dominican Republic and Peru.
LEDS LAC project support Sustainable Agrifood Colombia (executed by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Bioversity-CIAT Alliance and partners) in the design and execution of the Local Climate Knowledge and Climate Adaptation Practices Challenge.
Four teams of men and women of different ages from four departments of the Colombian Caribbean were selected through an open call to document their knowledge of climate and share it through a dialogue of knowledge and experiences held at the CIAT campus in Palmira in 2024.
In September, the Knowledge Management Program on Green Finance in LAC, with more than 30 state and financial actors from 27 institutions and 16 countries. During two years, the program will strengthen technical capacities through 6 sessions on climate and nature finance. Led by UNDP, with the support of LEDS LAC, this program is part of the Innovation for Green Finance in LAC (IFV LAC) project, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
Within the framework of the Regional Center for Transparency in Climate Action in Central America and the Dominican Republic, several activities were carried out to strengthen capacities and promote regional exchange. A kick-off workshop was held to present the results of the analysis of gaps and needs in climate transparency and the 2024 work plan. In addition, webinars were organized on ETF, QA/QC, NDC and AFOLU, with 143 participants from 16 countries. Face-to-face workshops on QA/QC, NDC and AFOLU brought together 73 people from 7 SICA countries and Cuba, promoting practical learning and regional cooperation.
LEDS LAC is a network of organizations and individuals working in the promotion, design and implementation of LEDS in Latin america and the Caribbean.
