About the webinar

As part of their climate change mitigation efforts, national and subnational governments are adopting a variety of GHG reduction goals. As they do so, they need to assess and report progress toward these goals in a relevant, complete, consistent, transparent, and accurate manner in order to meet domestic and international objectives and ensure that efforts implemented to achieve goals are having the intended results.

This webinar provided a brief overview of the GHG Protocol Mitigation Goal Standard, an accounting and reporting standard for national and subnational greenhouse gas reduction goals. As part of the process to develop the standard, it was pilot tested on six goals in a variety of countries and cities across a range of sectors, to test how the standard worked in practice. Following a presentation on the standard, the case of Chile’s national baseline scenario goal will be presented as an example from piloting the standard in Latin America.

The webinar was in English. If you have questions about this event, please contact the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat: info@ledslac.org.
