About the webinar
In its special report on the impacts of global warming of 1.5°C, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) incorporated carbon dioxide removal (CDD) into emissions trajectories. As discussions about climate-altering technologies and their governance gain ground in climate change negotiations, it is important that practitioners in the region have sufficient information to position themselves in these discussions.
In this context, ECLAC, in the framework of the EUROCLIMA+ Program, LEDS LAC Platform and C2G are developing a series of webinars that will strengthen their knowledge about these approaches, understand the risks and benefits that these technologies entail, the impact they could have on the achievement of the SDGs and the challenges of their governance.
To kick off this series, this first webinar will address the region's current challenges in meeting its goals under the Paris Agreement. In addition, it will present the EN-ROADSa climate policy simulator developed by Climate Interactive, Ventana Systems and MIT Sloan. Through the use of this simulator, climate change practitioners will create public policy scenarios to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.
This webinar will be held in Spanish and will have simultaneous translation into English. If you have any questions or concerns, please write to the LEDS LAC Platform at [email protected].
