About the Webinar
Water is the primary means through which the impacts of climate change will be felt by humans, society and ecosystems. It is not for nothing that in the context of the Paris Agreement, all Latin American and Caribbean countries that present an adaptation section in their Nationally Determined Contributions consider water as a priority in their adaptation plans. But water is not only transcendental for adaptation, it also has an important weight in mitigation, due to its close relationship with energy processes, mainly those related to pumping and distribution.
This webinar will present the study: "Challenges of public water utilities in Latin America for financing efficient and resilient infrastructure", which aims to understand and develop efficiency improvements in terms of energy, rationalize and reduce urban water consumption and be efficient in the management of water production. The study also seeks to support decision makers and managers of these services in the region in the climate proofing of public infrastructure. The presentation will discuss case studies from Cuba and Brazil.
The webinar will be conducted in Spanish. For more information about the webinar, click here. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat: info@ledslac.org.
