About the webinar

Young people are increasingly aware of the challenges and opportunities of a new pattern of development. The younger generation not only possesses a stronger social and environmental conscience than their predecessors, but also has the energy and knowledge to lead their communities, organizations and countries towards low-emission, climate-resilient development.

In Latin America and the Caribbean there are very relevant initiatives that seek to link young people to the transformation of development at the local and national levels by promoting entrepreneurship, active participation in the discussion and implementation of policies and involvement in climate action.

In this webinar we will learn about two of these initiatives: Generation+1 of Peru, with its Talent+1 program, which develops leadership, strengthens capacities, facilitates advocacy and supports entrepreneurship among young people in that country; and the GREENOVATORS contest promoted by the Inter-American Development Bank to support youth leadership and entrepreneurship in climate change and sustainable development. The winner of GREENOVATORS 2014 will make a presentation of his or her project.
