About the presentation

In the framework of the preparation of Ecuador´s First Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), the opportunity of promoting and supporting the production of bioenergy using organic waste was identified.  Taking into account the need to coordinate actions from several public policy-making areas,  an Inter-institutional Bioenergy Table has been formed, in order to identify and implement measures that allow the development of productive activities related to bioenergy, promoting the creation of new value chains and having a positive impact on the country’s trade balance, with a sustainable development approach.

In this session presentación, Ana María Guevara, Verónica Guayanlema y Paúl Melo, experts from the organizations leading the Inter-Institutional Table, will present details of the functions and operation of this mechanism, as well as advances and lessons learned. The presentation will be in Spanish with simultaneous translation to English. Participants will be able to ask questions and make comments in any of those languages. If you need additional information, please contact  Katherine Bocanegra kbocanegra@libelula.org.pe.
