Introduction to the event
Given that today's climate change challenges require concerted efforts from a wide range of actors, non-state and subnational actions need to be integrated into the national vision and objectives. Understanding climate action by different actors and at different scales within a country can help develop realistic and understandable targets, and support policy planning to achieve the 2°C target of the Paris Agreement.
In this context, the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT) has developed the Non-state and sub-national action guide to help policy makers and analysts identify, quantify and integrate the impact of non-state and sub-national actions. With this information it is possible to improve national greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions trajectories and climate policies.
In order to increase the accessibility of the guidelines in Spanish-speaking countries, especially in the Latin American and Caribbean region, the guidelines have been translated into Spanish and this webinar is an opportunity to raise awareness of the benefits of applying the guidelines.
