About the webinar

Sociedad Hipotecaria Federal (SHF), the National Housing Commission (CONAVI) and the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) are leading the development of a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) for Sustainable Housing in Mexico. This initiative seeks to mitigate emissions through the use of eco-technologies, improvements in architectural design, and the use of efficient construction materials.

Within this context, the SHF is implementing the EcoCasa Program, with the support of the German Development Bank (KfW) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). This program channels concessional resources to housing developers to compensate the differential in the cost of energy efficiency measures and eco-technologies required to achieve a 20% of CO2 reductions compared to a baseline house. SHF is also developing the Financial Component for the New Housing NAMA, complementing the EcoCasa Program.

This webinar presented the Sustainable Housing NAMA as a public policy framework for the development of low carbon housing and the EcoCasa program as a financial scheme for its implementation.

The webinar was conducted in Spanish.
