About the presentation
Within the framework of the formulation process of Ecuador's First Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), the opportunity to promote and support bioenergy from the use of organic waste from different sources was identified. Taking into account the need to coordinate actions by different areas of public policy, an Interinstitutional Bioenergy Technical Roundtable has been formed to identify measures that will enable the development of productive activities related to bioenergy, which will promote the generation of new value chains and have an impact on the country's trade balance with a focus on sustainable development.
In this session, Ana María Guevara, Verónica Guayanlema and Paúl Melo, experts from the organizations that lead the Inter-Institutional Roundtable, will present details on the functions and operation of this mechanism, and will share progress and lessons learned. The presentation will be in Spanish, with simultaneous translation into English. Participants will be able to ask questions and make comments in either language.
