About the webinar
The coastal marine areas of Latin America and the Caribbean face important development challenges, which are exacerbated by climate change. Vulnerability assessment is key to building resilience and also provides elements to address other important challenges associated with sustainable development, such as natural resource management, food security and risk management, among others.
By assessing the vulnerability of the community and the coastal territory, we have the basis for strengthening its resilience. However, this is a complex task, as it implies harmonizing concepts and approaches to climate change and risk management, socioeconomic elements of adaptive capacity and community capitals, all of which are complementary and directly related to resilience.
This webinar will discuss the methodological approach used by the WaterClima-LAC project, funded by the European Commission and implemented by a consortium of academic institutions in the region, to understand and build the resilience of coastal zone communities.
The webinar will be in Spanish language. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat: info@ledslac.org.
