About the webinar

One of the priority themes of the LEDS LAC Platform is the integration of the mitigation, adaptation and development agendas. With the support of the EUROCLIMA Program and other partners, the Platform Secretariat has organized face-to-face and virtual exchanges between experts from governments in the region and international organizations to identify common challenges, progress, lessons learned, good practices and tools available to advance this integration.

As a result of exchanges carried out during 2015 (see publication), a series of factors were identified that limit efforts to design and implement measures that simultaneously contribute to mitigation and adaptation, among them the lack of tools to measure progress in both dimensions at the same time. This point was taken up again in a Expert Workshop held in October 2016The challenges of linking adaptation monitoring and evaluation with mitigation measurement, reporting and verification, as well as methodological and practical advances in this area, were discussed.

This webinar seeks to continue the discussion on this topic, presenting an expert's perspective on the opportunities and challenges for articulating mitigation and adaptation metrics, and the case of Colombia, on how the process of formulating adaptation indicators is being leveraged to capture linkages with mitigation.

The webinar will be held at Spanish. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat: info@ledslac.org.
