About the webinar

This webinar presented and discussed the main conclusions of a report recently published by the UNEP DTU Partnership, which envisioned a pathway for the complete decarbonization of the regional economy of Latin America and the Caribbean by mid-century, through the review of specific sectoral actions, within a predictable technological and economic context.

The review includes the following actions: a) complete decarbonization of the energy sector; b) massive electrification of the transportation sector; c) integration of the electricity grids of regional economies; d) expansion of the electricity grid to absorb new demand generated by transportation; e) zero net deforestation; f) restoration of some 200 million hectares of degraded land through reforestation and agroforestry and silvopastoral ecosystems; g) reduction of agricultural emissions through improved nutrient management; and h) mitigation actions in industry.

The webinar was conducted in Spanish. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat: [email protected]
