About the webinar

Transport planning in Latin America and the Caribbean traditionally has focused on improving conditions for motorized mobility – private and public- without giving a similar level of consideration to the development of spaces for pedestrians and cyclists. However, in the search for a low emission urban development it is being shown that incorporating strategies to increase bicycle use and facilitate walking is a practical and accessible way to reduce CO2 emissions while improving quality of life for city dwellers .

This webinar will discuss the concept of “non motorized mobility” as well as the challenges and opportunities to promote it in Latin America and the Caribbean. It will present the experience of Mexico City in the implementation of public bike-sharing programs.

The webinar will be held in Spanish. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat: info@ledslac.org
