About the webinar

Distributed generation (DG) represents a paradigm shift in the provision of electricity, moving from a centralized generation system to one that incorporates many small generation sources (generally renewable) installed close to consumption, incorporating modern technology and the back-up of the power system grid.

Among the advantages of the development of distributed generation are the reduction of investment costs, reduction of environmental externalities, such as greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, increased energy security, reduction of system losses, among others.

This webinar will discuss two experiences in promoting distributed generation in the region: the regional project America del Sol, which seeks to facilitate the adoption of photovoltaic systems for distributed generation, and the case of Guatemala, focused on the development of the necessary regulatory framework for the promotion of this type of generation. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat. [email protected][/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container].
