About the webinar

As part of their efforts to mitigate climate change, national and subnational governments are adopting a variety of GHG reduction targets. As they do so, they need to assess and report their progress toward these targets in a relevant, comprehensive, consistent, transparent, and accurate manner in order to meet national and international objectives and to ensure that the efforts implemented to achieve these targets are having the desired results.

This webinar will provide a brief overview of the GHG Protocol's Mitigation Target Standard, an accounting and reporting standard for national and sub-national greenhouse gas reduction targets. As part of the standard development process, a pilot test was conducted on six targets, in a variety of countries and cities, across a range of sectors, in order to verify how the standard worked in practice. Following a framework presentation on the standard, the case of the baseline scenario of Chile's national target will be presented as an example of the testing of the standard in Latin America.

The webinar will be conducted in English. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the LEDS Secretariat LEDS LAC Platform: info@ledslac.org.
