About the webinar

Latin America and the Caribbean is the second most urbanized region on the planet with 8 out of 10 people living in cities. With their high levels of population concentration, industries and infrastructure, cities generate nearly three-quarters of global greenhouse gas emissions and are among the areas that will suffer most from the effects of climate change. However, they also offer many opportunities to develop strategies that contribute to both addressing climate change and improving the quality of life of their inhabitants.

In Latin America and the Caribbean there are important initiatives that promote the transformation of the urban environment with a climate compatible development model, which have already achieved significant progress and contributed to identify common challenges. In this webinar we will discuss the experiences of ICLEI's URBAN LEDS Project and the IDB's Emerging and Sustainable Cities Program, which are supporting local processes and facilitating learning through regional exchange.

The webinar will be conducted in Spanish. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the LEDS LAC Platform Secretariat: info@ledslac.org
