Reflections towards COP30: What opportunities does it bring for the region?

During the panel "Reflections towards COP30".The event, held within the framework of the Academy, brought together experts to analyze the path towards Belém 2025.

The following were identified 6 key reflections that should guide the region's advocacy at COP30:

  1. Ensure adequate and accessible financing for adaptation.

  2. Strengthen national and local capacities for effective implementation.

  3. Promote a regional narrative that connects adaptation, development and climate justice.

  4. Consolidate monitoring and transparency systems.

  5. Promote regional alliances and collaboration among countries.

  6. Position adaptation as a political priority on the global agenda.

A collective path to fair and ambitious adaptation

The Adaptation Academy 2025 left a clear mark: to adapt is also to transform. The lessons learned set a course that demands fairness, ambition, coherence and collaboration. From the local to the global, climate action in Latin America and the Caribbean grows stronger with each collective step.
