Gender Mainstreaming in National Climate Action for Resilient and Low Emission Development - Progress, Needs and Practices in LAC

Circular Economy Opportunities in Sustainable Mobility

Consolidating Energy Security through Energy Transition in Latin America and the Caribbean

This dialogue will convene key public and private stakeholders from Latin America and the Caribbean to discuss effective ways to keep energy transition efforts alive while ensuring energy security and affordability of service for a growing population. Relevant topics such as the availability of financing and the cost of capital, diversification of fossil fuel tax revenues, local value creation in the new green economy, and other issues relevant to achieving decarbonization goals will be addressed. In addition, the status of regional climate action platforms and similar coordination efforts, such as RELAC (Renewable Energies in Latin America), will be presented.

Short Impactful Technical Assistance Mechanism

This exhibition will present the high-impact results obtained from the Technical Assistance Accelerator in LAC, developed by the Sustenar Association together with the LEDS LAC Platform during 2021. During that year, more than 18 projects on resource efficiency, electric mobility, clean logistics, circular economy and climate change were identified, supported and coordinated.

Transforming Mobility: Collective transport as the Climate solution

This session brings together policy makers, advocates and members of the business community to share their views on how best to achieve a broader system transformation that includes support for active travel and public and shared transport, which often lack priority and funding. Best practices and examples of what is being done around the world to transform mobility will be shared.

Progress in the implementation of the damage and loss agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Loss and damage will again be the focus of attention at COP27. During the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies sessions in Bonn (June 2022), developing countries continued to push for a funding mechanism for loss and damage. The systematization report generated as a result of the dedicated Loss and Damage (L&D) cycle of the Euroclima+ Community of Practice (CoP) on Climate Policy Monitoring and Assessment will be presented during the event.
