About the Webinar
Climate Proofing is a technical option for adaptation, which aims at maintaining the capacity of a system to function while the climate changes, ensuring the sustainability of investments (UNDP, 2010). It has the purpose of reducing climate risks to acceptable levels, through the incorporation of long lasting and environmentally friendly changes, which are economically viable and socially acceptable in one or more of the stages of the project cycle (Asian Development Bank, 2005).
In this webinar, we will learn about the "Regional Mechanism for Integrated Risk Management and Adoption of Climate Proofing in Public Infrastructure", a project implemented by the Central American Institute of Public Administration (ICAP) and the Coordination Center for Natural Disaster Prevention in Central America (CEPREDENAC), with financing from the Inter-American Development Bank. The presentation includes application cases in San Carlos of Panama and Conchagua of El Salvador.
The webinar will be held in Spanish. For more information on the webinar, click here. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the Secretariat of the LEDS LAC Platform: info@ledslac.org
