About the webinar

The Federal Mortgage Society (SHF, for its acronym in Spanish), the National Housing Commission (CONAVI) and the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) lead the development of a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (MAMA) on Sustainable Housing in Mexico. This initiative seeks to mitigate emissions through the use of eco-technologies, improvements in architectural design and the use of efficient building materials.

Within this context, SHF is executing the EcoCasa Program, with support from the German Development Bank (KfW) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). This program channels concessional resources to housing developers to compensate for the difference in the cost of energy efficiency measures and eco-technologies required to achieve a 20% reduction in CO2 compared to a baseline house. Likewise, SHF is developing the Financial Component for the new housing NAMA, to complement the EcoCasa Program.

This webinar featured a presentation of the Sustainable Housing NAMA as the policy framework for the development of low-carbon housing, and the EcoCasa Program as a financial arrangement to supports its implementation.

The webinar was in Spanish.
