About the webinar

One of the priority topics of the LEDS LAC Platform is the integration of the mitigation, adaptation and development agendas. With support from the EUROCLIMA Program and other partners, the Platform´s Secretariat has organized face to face and online exchanges among governmental experts and international organizations, aimed at identifying common challenges, advances, lessons learned, good practices and tools available to move forward in this integration.

As a result of exchanges that took place in 2015 (check publication), a number of factors were identified, which limit the efforts to design and implement measures that contribute simultaneously to mitigation and adaptation, among them, the lack of tools to simultaneously measure the advances in mitigation and adaptation. This point was revisited during an Expert Workshop held in October 2016, discussing the challenges of articulating the monitoring and evaluation of adaptation, and the measurement, reporting and verification of mitigation, as well as methodological and practical advances in that area.

This webinar aims to continue the discussion on this topic, presenting an expert´s perspective on the opportunities and challenges to articulate mitigation and adaptation metrics, and the case of Colombia on how the process of formulating adaptation indicators is being used to capture linkages with mitigation. The webinar will be held in Spanish. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the Secretariat of the LEDS LAC Platform: info@ledslac.org

Thematic study that presents lessons learned from experiences in Latin America regarding low-emission development strategies that, on one hand, integrate adaptation and mitigation into development strategies and, moreover, incorporate the concept of resilience in its design and implementation. Study conducted by LEDS LAC Platform with the support of EUROCLIMA.
