EXPERT WORKSHOP: EXPLORING FINANCE AND MRV TOWARDS THE INTEGRATION BETWEEN MITIGATION AND ADAPTATION IN CLIMATE POLICIES

  • Place: San José, Costa Rica
  • Date: From October 10th to 12th, 2016

What actions are required so that climate finance promotes a holistic view of a resilient and low emissions development? What should an integrated MRV system for mitigation, adaptation and development include?

These and other questions were part of the dialogue that took place between the 10th and 12th of October in San Jose, Costa Rica, between experts in climate change, finance and MRV. The workshop aimed to facilitate the exchange and discussion of previous and current experiences on these issues among the countries of the LAC region and other interested organizations. As a main result lessons learned, best practices and recommendations for future work were derived as part of the dialogue.

The workshop was organized by LEDS LAC, in collaboration with the Climate Change Division of the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica, and the support and funding of the European Union through the EUROCLIMA program.
