The IV Regional Workshop had as central theme “Building Bridges for the implementation of low- emission climate resilient development strategies”, approach applied not only to the link that can be generated among people working in the field but also about the importance of to link and generate synergies between different sectors, government levels, actors and approaches to address issues of low emission development. This time it gave special attention to the link between mitigation of GHG emissions and adaptation to climate change and the challenges this presents in the region.

As in previous workshops, discussions were held to build knowledge about “how to” move forwards the implementation of low emission and climate resilient development strategies and mitigation actions associated with these strategies.

The workshop provided a forum for officials of the Latin America and the Caribbean, international organizations, technical experts and other stakeholders who shared experiences and best practices, participated in training, built bridges of cooperation and work, and found innovative ways to progress in the implementation of LEDS that are also resilient to the impacts of climate change.

The workshop was organized by the National Council for Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism of Dominican Republic and LEDS LAC Platform, along with CAF Development Bank of Latin America ande the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). It had the support of the World Bank and the European Union through the EUROCLIMA program.
